Shared Ownership is designed for people who want to buy a home of their own, but who can’t afford to pay the full market price outright. We will normally accept your application for Shared Ownership if you are: –
• First time buyer/s
• Already a tenant of a local Council or Housing Association
• On the waiting list of a local Council or Housing Association
• Setting up home for the first time
• Looking for new accommodation because you have separated from your partner.
For New Build Shared Ownership schemes, the Local Authority will generally have some say in who is put forward. Properties will therefore be offered in line with the Local Authority’s policy.
